Our Ethical Responsibility

At SCHAFFRATH, we are frequently asked about the origin of our diamonds and whether they are conflict-free. As we uphold the highest ethical standards when purchasing diamonds, we would like to explain why choosing us ensures not only stunning jewelry but also a guarantee of ethical responsibility. Our diamonds are not only conflict-free but we also prioritize fair working conditions, environmental protection, and strict adherence to social standards. At SCHAFFRATH, you can confidently acquire exquisite pieces of jewelry that not only express your personality but also reflect your ethical values.

Conflict-free diamonds and the Kimberley Agreement

The Kimberley Process is an international certification system developed to curtail the trade of conflict diamonds and ensure that diamonds originate from ethically sound sources. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that all diamonds we source comply with the requirements of the Kimberley Process.

This means that we trace the origin of the diamonds and ensure they come from countries that have signed the agreement. We are committed to ensuring that our diamonds are free from conflicts and human rights abuses.

We aspire to uphold the highest standards in diamond sourcing and make a positive contribution to the sustainability of the jewelry industry.

Where do conflict-free diamonds come from?

Approximately 80% of all diamonds certified as conflict-free come from Russia (formerly), Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Australia, the United States, and Canada. In addition to complying with the obligations of the Kimberley Process regarding diamond mining, these countries place great emphasis on upholding human rights, ecological sustainability, and workers' rights. Our diamonds exclusively originate from these regions.

Zero-tolerance policy

At SCHAFFRATH, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and money laundering. We are committed to conducting our business with integrity and transparency, and we strive for the highest ethical standards.

Transparency and integrity are fundamental values upon which our business operations are built. We place importance on ensuring that all our activities and decisions are transparent and accountable. This includes disclosing information about our supply chain, the origin and quality of our materials, as well as ensuring fair treatment of our employees and partners.
